PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sand lifting device which has a sedimentary sand storing tank with a structure capable of effectively transferring sedimentary sand accumulated on a bottom section thereof with a small amount of sand discharging water. SOLUTION: A sand lifting device of the present invention suctions sedimentary sand inside a sedimentary sand pit into a sedimentary sand storing tank 14 through a sedimentary sand suction pipe 12 and discharges the sedimentary sand, temporarily stored in the sedimentary sand storing tank, together with sand discharging water. In the sand lifting device, the sedimentary sand storing tank has: a sedimentary sand inflow section 31 where water accompanying the sedimentary sand from the sedimentary sand pit flows in; a sand discharging water inflow section 32 where sand discharging water flows in; and a sand discharging water outflow section 33 which discharges the sedimentary sand together with the sand discharging water. The sand discharging water outflow section is opened up at a central portion of a bottom surface of the sedimentary sand storing tank which is constructed in a cylindrical shape. The bottom surface of the sedimentary sand storing tank is also provided with a downward slope toward the sand discharging water outflow section. The sand discharging water inflow section has swirling flow generation means (an elbow 32a) to generate a swirling flow in sand settling water flowing into the sedimentary sand storing tank.
