PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the required labor hour in reducing a projection image as much as possible. SOLUTION: The projection apparatus includes a micromirror device 17 which forms a rectangular light image corresponding to an input image signal, projection optical systems 18 to 23 which enlarges the light image formed by the micromirror device 17 and projects it on a surface as an object of projection, a key switch unit 32 which instructs the image projected by the projection optical systems to be reduced, and a control unit 26 which reduces the rectangular light image formed by the micromirror device 17 on the basis of the top side according to the instruction.
