PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a DC power supply device in which a voltage between output terminals of a DC power supply and the ground is controlled to 1/2 of the output voltage of this DC power supply even if resistance values of insulating resistances C and D are changed by an increase/decrease in the number of load equipment, and also to provide a method for controlling the DC power supply device. SOLUTION: A middle point grounding controller allows a plus side output of the DC power supply and a voltage value between ground contact points and a minus side output and the voltage value between the ground contact points to be similar with each other. This controller includes: a first resistance part which is provided between the plus side output and the ground contact point and has a variable resistance value; a second resistance part which is provided between the minus output and the ground contact point and has the variable resistance value; and a resistance control part in which resistance values of the first resistance part and the second resistance part are controlled by a difference between the resistance values of the first resistance part and the second resistance part.
