PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steam valve capable of reducing pressure losses. SOLUTION: A main steam stop valve 130 of the embodiment includes a valve casing 10 for forming a steam flow passage in which steam is introduced in the horizontal direction from an inlet 11, led downwardly in the vertical direction, led in the horizontal direction, and delivered from an outlet 12. It further includes a valve stem 20 having the center axis O<SB POS="POST">2</SB>in the vertical direction offset in the distal direction from the outlet side of the valve casing 10 in the horizontal direction from the center axis O<SB POS="POST">1</SB>of the steam flow passage directed downwardly in the vertical direction, and provided in an elevating/lowering manner, and a valve element 30 connected to the valve stem 20. It still further includes a valve seat 50 having an expansion part 51 which is arranged in the steam flow passage directed downwardly in the vertical direction in a closing manner from the upper side by the valve element 30, and expanded in the vertical direction in the steam flow passage in the horizontal direction directly connected to the outlet 12 while gradually increasing the sectional area of the flow passage at the end on the downstream side.
