In the present invention, there is disclosed a device with acoustically stabilized electric discharge comprising a discharge chamber (1) provided with an inlet (2) and an outlet (3) of a processed gas. In the discharge chamber (1), there is located a wire electrode (10) and a knife-edge electrode (11). Both sides of the discharge chamber (1) are connected via acoustic waveguides (6) and (7), reducers (8) and (9) to electroacoustic transducers (4) and (5), which are situated within a common case (14) and are driven in phase opposition by means of an amplifier (15), which is driven by a generator (16). The wire electrode (10) is connected with a potential, while the knife-edge electrode (11) is connected with an opposite potential, whereby the centers of these potentials are located in the center of the discharge chamber (1), i.e. symmetrically in an acoustic pressure node. The knife-edge electrode (11) is electrically connected via a resistor (12) with a high-voltage source (13). The wire electrode (10) is electrically connected outside the discharge chamber (1) to a ground conductor. The wire electrode (10) is formed by a conductor of circular cross section disposed parallel to the axis of the cylindrical discharge chamber (1). The length of the wire electrode (10) conductor is greater than the double of the length of the a knife-edge electrode (11) and the diameter thereof is at least ten times less than the inner diameter of the discharge chamber (1). The length of the knife electrode (11) edge is less than the double of the sound particle displacement created by the acoustic wave. |
