Device and method for ultrasound material processing

The device has a converter (2) for converting electrical oscillations into mechanical oscillations and an ultrasonic horn (4) for introduction of the mechanical oscillations in or on a material to be processed. The ultrasonic horn has a working side oriented in an oscillating direction and multiple recesses. The recesses are designed and arranged in a distributed manner in the oscillating direction of the ultrasonic horn such that the ultrasonic horn executes oscillations in the direction of the working side. The oscillations are uniform along the working side. An independent claim is also included for a method for ultrasonic machining.
