A loom for producing a linked item from a plurality of closed loops such as elastic bands comprises a base 34 defining an inner space a top surface (50, figure 5) and an outer periphery 38. Pins 42 are disposed around the periphery, each including an access groove 48 extending along it into the periphery of the base. The groove may extend through a pin-top flange 46 and preferably opens outwardly about the base periphery. The loom preferably comprises three pins on each of two opposing sides and one pin on each of opposing ends and opposing pins align across the inner space. The inner space may be open to receive part of the partially completed item. The item may be a bracelet or necklace. The loom may form part of a kit also including a hook clips and elastic bands. In a method of creating a linked item, plural elastic bands are stretched across at least two pins. A portion of one elastic band is pulled over another elastic band above it on one of the pins. An additional elastic band is added to one of the pins and a portion of the lower most band is pulled over that pin and any other elastic bands supported on the pins. |
