PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection device and liquid ejection method, which can effectively perform recording while suppressing the deterioration of recording quality. SOLUTION: The liquid ejection device includes: a recording head 29 for ejecting ink to long paper 12 to apply printing processing; a second and a third rollers 17, 18 for conveying the paper 12 from an upstream side to a downstream side in a conveying direction; a cutter 19 arranged at the downstream side of the recording head 29 in the conveying direction, which cuts the paper 12 along a width direction intersecting the conveying direction; and a control part for controlling the recording head 29. The cutter 19 cuts the paper 12 while the conveyance of the paper 12 by the second and the third rollers 17, 18 is stopped. The control part controls the recording head 29 in accordance with the cutting of the paper 12 by the cutter 19 and flushing processing is performed in parallel with the cutting processing in a second time shorter than a first time required for the cutting processing for cutting the paper 12 by the cutter 19.
