The present invention relates to a novel acid dianhydride, a method for preparing the same, and polyimides prepared thereby. More specifically, the acid dianhydride represented by chemical formula 1, according to the present invention, is useful as a unit of a colorless transparent polyimide having excellent thermal stability and low dielectric constant. The polyimide of the present invention has excellent dissolution properties for an organic solvent compared to a conventional polyimide.
