<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synthetic ester-based lubricating base oil in which all of lubricating property (seizure resistance and wear resistance), low-temperature fluidity and oxidation stability required as a bearing oil are improved in a well-balanced manner, in synthetic ester-based lubricating oil having a high flash point and excellent biodegradability, and to provide lubricating oil. <P>SOLUTION: The lubricating base oil comprises a synthetic ester obtained by reacting an alcohol component containing trimethylol propane by 90 wt.% or more and a carboxylic acid component containing a 8C-12C monovalent fatty acid and adipic acid and further containing a 8C-12C monovalent fatty acid which includes caprylic acid and/or capric acid by 90 wt.% in total, and adipic acid, by 90 wt.% or more in total. The molar ratio of the adipic acid to the trimethylol propane (adipic acid/trimethylol propane) is from 0.65 to 0.74. The synthetic ester has an acid value of 1 mgKOH/g or less and a hydroxyl value of 10 to 70 mgKOH/g. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT</p> |
