PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photoelectric conversion element which can reduce influences on recombination life of electrons and positive holes.SOLUTION: The photoelectric conversion element includes a p layer, an n layer and an intermediate level part disposed between the p and n layers and having an intermediate level. In the photoelectric conversion element, an impurity concentration in at least one of boundaries between a high region where the Fermi level in a thermal equilibrium state is higher than the intermediate level and a low region where the Fermi level in the thermal equilibrium state is lower than the intermediate level changes in a stepwise manner. |
