416,115. Bunch-building motion for ring spinning and like machines. TOMLINSON, H., BLOMLEY, F., and TWEEDALES & SMALLEY (1920), Ltd., Castleton, near Manchester. April 7, 1933, No. 10400. [Class 120 (ii).] In ring spinning, doubling, and like machines wherein the heart-cam driving-mechanism is disconnected for the purpose of arresting the lift to wind a bunch, means are provided whereby the mechanism can be disconnected only when the cam is in a determined position. As applied to the arrangement described in Specification 322,623, [Class 120 (ii)], wherein the worm wheel B is disconnected from the driving-worm A by moving the bracket G about its pivot g<1>, the large bevel wheel E which drives the cam F is provided with a peripheral notch e so that a lever 1 carrying a slide bar 7 is operative only when a stop pin 6 registers with the notch e and permits vertical movement of the bar 7. A pin 9 projecting from the bracket G engages an inclined slot in the bar 7 so that, as the bar 7 moves vertically, the bracket G is tilted and the worm wheel B disconnected. A drop-latch 11 may be provided to retain the lever 1 and its treadle in the depressed operative position for any desired period. |
