A cooling module (18) of a galley chiller system is provided including an internal chamber (12). A heat exchanger assembly (40) has air and a liquid coolant flowing there through. The heat exchanger assembly (40) includes a first heat exchanger core (42a) and a second heat exchanger core (42b). The first heat exchanger core (42a) and the second heat exchanger core (42b) are arranged generally sequentially within the internal chamber (12). Heat transfer within the first heat exchanger core (42a) is limited such that a temperature of the air in the first heat exchanger core (42a) remains above freezing.
