A double-walled paper cup comprises an inner cup 300 and an outer sleeve 301 attached at the top and bottom circumferential edge thereof wherein the top edge of the outer sleeve is folded inwards on itself to form a contact strip 303 for attachment to the inner cup adjacent to a lip 304. A bottom curl 302 is attached towards the bottom edge of the inner cup. The contact strip defines a gap between the inner cup and the outer sleeve that in use reduces heat transfer from the inner cup to outer sleeve and provide improved heat insulation. A method of manufacturing the paper cup comprises the use of combining a cold glue process followed by a hot melt glue process to attach the contact strip to the inner cup, resulting in improved adhesion between to the contact strip and inner cup. |
