<PICT:0418430/IV/1> An apparatus for treating fabric webs with steam and air, comprises a perforated drum, means for feeding the web and an endless felt covering it round the drum, means for deflecting the felt from the web before the web leaves the drum, and a drier for the felt above the drum to which the felt is fed before returning to the drum, steam being passed through part of the drum and air through another part including the part where the web is not covered by the felt. As shown, a web 5 passes over a perforated rotating drum 2. An endless felt 8 also passes over the web round the drum but is deflected from the drum by roller 10 before the web, which leaves by roller 7. The felt passes through drier 12, which is heated by heater 15, and returns to the drum after passing in contact with the bottom of the steam chest 19.
