The present invention relates to a sterilization device using chlorine dioxide gas comprising: a chamber with a sterilization room; a chlorine dioxide generating unit for generating wetting chlorine dioxide gas from stable chlorine dioxide gas; a photo-ionization detector which measures the concentration of chlorine dioxide in the chamber; an electronic controlling unit which controls the process of sterilization; an adsorption removing unit which removes the remaining of the chlorine dioxide gas in the chamber after the sterilization process; a controlling panel which is composed of an input unit where sterilization conditions are input and a display unit where sterilization state is displayed; and a printer which outputs the sterilization statement. In the present invention, provided is a sterilization method using wetting chlorine dioxide gas where ultraviolet rays, whose maximum wavelength is 253.7nm and radial output is 1.2-11W/cm^2, is radiated to the stable chlorine dioxide gas in the chlorine dioxide gas generating unit; thus wetting chlorine dioxide gas with 65-95% humidity is generated and even spores are sterilized by objects to be sterilized being exposed to the wetting chlorine dioxide gas for a certain time.
