<p>Provided is a light emitting device capable of obtaining high brightness and a high output by improving heat resistance. A plurality of light emitting elements (12) composed of LEDs is mounted on a substrate (11). A wavelength conversion member (16) is arranged on the light emitting element (12) with a space (15) with the light emitting element (12). The wavelength conversion member (16) includes a grain-shaped phosphor and a binder. The binder is obtained by thermally processing a binder material including at least one from a group of an oxide precursor which becomes oxide by hydrolysis or oxidation, silicic acid compounds, silica, and amorphous silica at 500 degrees centigrade or less or through the reaction of the binder material at room temperature.</p> |
