1. An ester compound for use in a personal care, home care, health care, and institutional care composition which is the reaction product of:
at least one poly-alcohol selected from the group consisting of glycerol, polyglycerol containing from 2 to 20 glycerol units, pentaerythritol, dipentaerythrityl, tripentaerythritol, trimethylolpropane, neopentyl glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butylene glycol, 2-methyl-1,3-propanediol, dipropylene glycol, ethylene glycol, cyclohexane-dimethanol, butyl ethyl propanediol, resorcinol, hydroquinone, dimethylolpropanoic acid, dimethylol butanoic acid, and combinations thereof; at least one mono-carboxylic acid; and at least one poly-carboxylic acid selected from the group consisting of oxalic acid, malonic acid, succinic acid, glutaric acid, azelaic acid, dodecanedioic acid, maleic acid, fumaric acid, phthalic acid, isophthalic acid, terephthalic acid, 2,6-naphthalene dicarboxylic acid, citric acid, malic acid, tartaric, butane tertracarboxylic acid, phthalic anhydride, trimellitic anhydride, succinic anhydride, maleic anhydride, derivatives thereof or combinations thereof, wherein the resulting ester has a molecular weight of 1,500 to 100,000 daltons and a viscosity of less than 1000 mPa·s measured at 20 to 25° C. |
