<p>Packing method and packing machine (18) for producing a sealed package (3) with an inner stiffener (12); the packing method comprises the steps of: forming a group (4) of articles in a group-forming pocket (26) of a group- forming conveyor (25) travelling along a group-forming path (PI); fitting the group (4) of articles with a stiffener (12); and wrapping a sheet (7) of packing material about the group (4) of articles enclosed in the stiffener (12); the step of fitting the stiffener (12) with the group (4) of articles comprises the further steps of: depositing the stiffener (12) onto the group- forming pocket (26) along the group-forming path (PI); folding the stiffener (12) about the group- forming pocket (26) along the group- forming path (PI); and expelling the stiffener (12) and the group (4) of articles together and simultaneously at the end of the group- forming path (PI).</p> |
