The present invention provides a lubricating oil for a compression type refrigerator including a polyvinyl ether-based compound containing an alkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol unit and a vinyl ether unit in a molecule and having a molecular weight in a range of 300 to 3,000, an epoxy compound having 8 or more carbon atoms The lubricating oil for a compression type refrigerator of the present invention has high miscibility and high viscosity index, and is excellent in stability, and does not have an unpleasant odor under carbon dioxide atmosphere.

1. A lubricating oil for a compression type refrigerator, comprising:
70% by mass or more of a polyvinyl ether-based compound containing an alkylene glycol or polyoxyalkylene glycol unit and a vinyl ether unit in a molecule and having a molecular weight in a range of 300 to 3,000; and 0. 01 to 5% by mass of an epoxy compound selected from the group consisting of a glycidyl ether having 5 to 30 carbon atoms and an α-olefin oxide having 8 to 50 carbon atoms, wherein the polyvinyl ether-based compound has a carbon/oxygen molar ratio of 4.0 or less and has a structure represented by the general formula (I):wherein
