摘要 According to one embodiment, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery is provided. A positive electrode contains a lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese complex oxide represented by the formula Li1+aNi1−b−cCobMncO2. A negative electrode contains at least one selected from a lithium titanate having a spinel structure and a monoclinic β-type titanium complex oxide. The negative electrode further contains at least one selected from an oxide which has a spinel structure and represented by the formula AFe2O4 and an oxide which has a spinel structure and represented by the formula ACo2O4. A ratio of the total mass of AFe2O4 and ACo2O4 to the total mass of the negative electrode active material is in a range from 1% by mass to 5% by mass.

A nonaqueous electrolyte battery comprising a positive electrode comprising a positive electrode current collector and a positive electrode layer provided on the positive electrode current collector; a negative electrode comprising a negative electrode current collector and a negative electrode layer provided on the negative electrode current collector; and a nonaqueous electrolyte, wherein the positive electrode layer contains a positive electrode active material, the positive electrode active material containing a lithium-nickel-cobalt-manganese complex oxide represented by the formula Li1+aNi1−b−cCobMncO2, where a, b, and c satisfy a relationship represented by a inequality 0≦a≦0.2, 0<b≦0.4, and 0<c≦0.4, respectively; the negative electrode layer contains a negative electrode active material, the negative electrode active material containing at least one selected from a lithium titanate having a spinel structure and a monoclinic β-type titanium complex oxide, and at least one selected from a oxide which has a spinel structure and represented by the formula AFe2O4 and a oxide which has a spinel structure and represented by the formula ACo2O4, where A is at least one element selected from the group consisting of Cu, Co, Ca, Mg, Zn, Ni, and Fe; a ratio of the total mass of the oxide represented by the formula AFe2O4 and the oxide represented by the formula ACo2O4 to the total mass of the negative electrode active material is in a range from 1% by mass to 5% by mass; and a capacity of the negative electrode is larger than that of the positive electrode.
