摘要 According to one embodiment, there is provided an electrode material. The electrode material includes an active material which includes a titanium oxide compound having a monoclinic titanium dioxide crystal structure. The electrode material further includes a compound which exists on the surface of the active material and has a trialkylsilyl group represented by the formula (I).; wherein R1, R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, respectively represent an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms.

An electrode material comprising: an active material comprising a titanium oxide compound having a monoclinic titanium dioxide crystal structure; and a compound which exists on a surface of the active material and has a trialkylsilyl group represented by the formula (I):wherein, R1, R2 and R3, which may be the same or different, respectively represent an alkyl group having 1 to 10 carbon atoms; wherein the compound having the trialkylsilyl group is at least one selected from phosphoric acid compounds containing the trialkylsilyl group and boric acid compounds containing the trialkylsilyl group; and when a surface of the electrode material is measured by time-of-flight type secondary ion mass-analysis method, a peak intensity ratio (I1/I2) satisfies the equation (II): 3.30≦I1/I2  (II)wherein I1 is a peak intensity of Si(CH3)3+ and I2 is a peak intensity of Ti+.
