The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism with kaurene production ability, which is a precursor of stevioside, and a method for manufacturing kaurene using the same. According to the present invention, a mass of kaurene, which is a precursor of stevioside of natural sweetener, can be provided by only a simple process by manipulating a metabolism pathway by a recombinant gene introduced to microorganism, not by directly separating from a stevia extract.
