Disclosed are a device and a method for extracting a peak image from a consecutively photographed image. The device according to an aspect of the present invention comprises: an image selection unit for selecting one of consecutively photographed images; a reference image determination unit for determining at least one or more reference images according to a predetermined reference; a difference value calculation unit for calculating a difference value between the determined at least one or more reference images and the selected image; and a peak image determination unit for determining a peak image among the consecutively photographed images based on the calculated difference value.
