摘要 <p>The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device and a method for driving the same capable of reducing power consumption and heat radiation by a low frequency operation and preventing degradation of a display quality. The liquid crystal display device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a liquid crystal panel having multiple pixels which are turned on by scan signals supplied from a gate driver and to which data voltages supplied from a data driver are supplied; a mode selection unit for selecting a driving frequency to display an image by analyzing inputted source image data; a timing controller for controlling the gate driver and the data driver to display the image in a lower driving frequency than the driving frequency of the source image data based on driving frequency selection of the mode selection unit; and a reference gamma voltage generation unit for generating a reference gamma voltage to convert the image data supplied from the timing controller to a data voltage, wherein the data voltage of a first frame after a polarity of the data voltage is changed is more raised than the data voltage according to the source image data.</p>
