<p>The present invention relates to a trommel separator for cord separation that can separate only already-separated steel cords efficiently from the granular materials of waste tires that are granularized in various sizes. The trommel separator according to the present invention, which separates materials smaller than a separation space from mixture being input into a cylindrical body, comprises: a cylindrical body having a lengthwise separation space formed by horizontal bars arranged at regular intervals on a circumference surface and including an inlet and an outlet at both lengthwise sides; and a driving unit for rotating the cylindrical body, wherein the horizontal bars forming the separation space have inward parts with a triangular or quadrangular cross section, and cross sections in a rotating direction among the cross sections of the horizontal bars is tilted toward to the rotating direction of the cylindrical body with respect to the central axis of the cylindrical body. Therefore, the trommel separator separates steel cords from the pulverized materials or granular materials of waste tires. The present invention gives economic feasibility to a waste tire recycling system by protecting a device being used in a final separation process, increasing work efficiency and preventing the unnecessary crush or pulverization of already-separated steel cords.</p> |
