PHARMACEUTICAL COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF OBESITY AND FATTY LIVER COMPRISING MINERAL EXTRACT OF DEEP SEA WATER

The present invention relates to a composition to prevent and treat obesity and fatty liver comprising a mineral extract of deep seawater rich in minerals as an active ingredient. The present invention was achieved through the steps of: preparing a mineral extract of deep seawater (DSW) by controlling Mg:Ca ratio to weight ratio 3:1 and a hardness to 500-2,000 ppm; administering deep seawater obtained from the previous step to an HFD-inductive obesity mouse and comparing the weight, the accumulation of visceral fat and hepatic steatosis with those of a control group; investigating mRNA expressions of genes related to the generation of fat and oxidation of fatty acid; and analyzing AMPK phosphorylation in adipose tissue and hepatic tissue. The present invention has excellent effects of reducing an increase in weight, visceral fat, plasma fat, liver fat, and the accumulation of fat.
