发明名称 Perfectionnements au montage des surfaces imprimantes
摘要 423,430. Printing-surfaces. NEWING, E. G., 4, Market Street, Dover. June 1, 1933, No. 15916. [Class 100 (ii)] A method of mounting a printing-plate on a metal base consists in providing the lower surface of the plate with raised parts and the base with depressions, and causing the raised parts to cut into the base by pressure, the depressions serving to take up the displaced metal. If the plate is of softer metal than the base, the raised parts are provided on the base and the depressions on the plate. This method may also be employed to secure the printing-plate to an intermediate plate which may be secured to a base by the same method or by means of screws. After the plate has been pressed down on to the base, it may be lifted and both surfaces coated with an adhesive, or a thin sheet of rubber interposed, and the plate again pressed down in its original position to secure the whole firmly together. The base may be built up by assembling together a number of unit blocks such as printers' quads. These may be provided on their vertical surfaces with depressions and be locked against harder units or thin hard plates having raised portions which are caused to cut into the softer units by pressure. Adhesive may also be used to hold the units together. The plates may be secured to curved bases on rotary printing- cylinders.
