The present invention relates to a liquid crystal display device having a display area to display an image. The liquid crystal display device comprises an array substrate, an opposite substrate, a liquid crystal layer, a first polarization plate, and a second polarization plate. The array substrate has a first orientation film. The opposite substrate is opposite to the array substrate and has a second orientation film. The first polarization plate is arranged on the array substrate and has a first absorption axis. The second polarization plate is arranged on the opposite substrate and has a second absorption axis orthogonal to the first absorption axis. Also, a first orientation axis of the first orientation film is orthogonal to a second orientation axis of the second orientation film; and a vertical viewing angle correction angle, which is defined as an angle formed by the second orientation axis and the second absorption axis on the plane, is 0.1-0.5 degrees. |
