The present invention relates to a method for driving a rotor of a generator, which can rotate the rotor of the generator without needing to connect a motor to the generator, and to the generator. The generator according to the present invention comprises a stator, and a rotor positioned inside the stator, wherein both ends of a coil wound around the rotor are connected to each other and isolated, and, if a voltage is applied to a coil wound around the stator, an induced current is generated on the rotor coil by the voltage applied to the stator coil so that the rotor rotates on the rotational axis. |
