<p>The prevent invention relates to a method for maintaining the distance between vehicles which is characterized by including a video acquisition step in which a control unit acquires the video data of the front side of a vehicle via the video acquisition unit; a video processing step in which the control unit divides the video data into several sections with the video processing unit and calculates the average value of color or brightness per section; a video analyzing step in which the control unit compares the average values calculated through the video processing unit per adjoining sections and analyzes the distance between the vehicle and a vehicle positioned in the front of the vehicle based on a changing rate of the average values; and a situation output step in which the control unit outputs traffic condition via an output unit based on the distance between the vehicles.</p> |
