An apparatus for monitoring the breakage of an electrode bar according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode bar measurement unit to measure current flowing through the electrode bar and voltage on the electrode rod; a measurement signal conversion unit to convert the current and the voltage into digital signals to generate a current conversion signal and a voltage conversion signal; and an electrode rod analyzing unit to detect a breakage degree of the electrode rod using the current and voltage conversion signals received from the measurement signal conversion unit to create the status information.
