The present specification relates to a dual-mode RFID sensor tag in which an HF-band NFC communication function is integrated onto a UHF-band RFID sensor tag and a control method thereof. To that end, according to the present specification, the dual-mode RFID sensor tag which communicates with a certain UHF reader or an NFC terminal includes: a UHF reader which stores, processes, and outputs data transmitted from the RFID sensor tag when communication with the RFID sensor tag is available; an NFC terminal which generates an RF signal, transmits the signal to the RFID sensor tag to the RFID sensor tag, and stores, processes, and outputs the data transmitted from the RFID sensor tag in response to the transmitted RF signal; and the RFID sensor tag which demodulates a preamble signal included in the RF signal transmitted from the NFC terminal, switches the mode of an HF antenna and an HF transceiving unit included in the RFID sensor tag to an NFC mode if the terminal which transmits the RF signal based on the demodulated signal includes an NFC function, and transmits the stored data to the NFC terminal through a predefined NFC protocol. |
