摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connection device and an optical connection method capable of securing reflection loss performance, eliminating necessity of adjustment of a gap interval and having high workability of attachment/detachment in an installation site.SOLUTION: Since a refractive index matching member 10 has projection parts 11a and 11b each forming an abutting part 11d having a diameter larger than a core diameter on its tip on portions corresponding to cores 21 formed by molding of synthetic resin, the cores 21 can be stuck close to the abutting parts 11d of the projection parts 11a and 11b by elastic deformation of the projection parts 11a and 11b by abutting the abutting parts 11d of the refractive index adjustment member 10 while pressing the abutting parts 11d to end surfaces ES of the cores 21. Thereby, adjustment of a gap interval is made unnecessary, workability of attachment/detachment in an installation site is high, and even when variation of pressing force or environmental variation is generated, the reflection loss performance can be comparatively easily secured.
