PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a hollow airfoil.SOLUTION: The method includes forming a steel airfoil preform with a pocket on at least one of a pressure surface and a suction surface, forming a cover plate for the pocket, and welding the cover plate over the pocket.
