An electronic device (e.g., a server system) with one or more processors and memory obtains a message from a mobile device, where the message is generated by the mobile device in response to a user input from a user of the mobile device and the message includes a timestamp and a location. The electronic device determines whether the timestamp is within a predefined time interval and whether the location is within a predefined spatial radius. In accordance with a determination that the timestamp is within the predefined time interval and that the location is with the predefined spatial radius, the electronic device identifies the user as one of a set of participants of an information exchange program. The electronic device provides information to mobile devices associated with the set of participants of the information exchange program.
