PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a face authentication system that can effectively make a person incorrectly determined to have made a dishonest act using face pictures or the like aware of a motion to resolve the incorrect determination.SOLUTION: A face authentication system performs face authentication of persons passing through a predetermined authentication area, and photographs the authentication area to sequentially acquire face images including faces of the persons and collates the face images with registered face images of pre-registered users. Along with the collation processing, the face authentication system determines whether or not the face images are obtained by impersonation using pictures or the like, and authenticates persons whose face images match the registered face images and determined not to act impersonation as the registered users. The face authentication system further includes notification means for notifying a person determined to have made a dishonest act of scheme information indicating the effect of the determination of the impersonation; the notifying means does not perform the notification of the scheme information immediately upon determination of the impersonation, and temporarily reserves the notification until the person determined to have made the dishonest act satisfies predetermined notification conditions. |
