PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the dimensions and cost of an apparatus for initial charging.SOLUTION: The self-excited converter charging method includes: stepping down electric power supplied from an AC system 1 by a first transformer 4; passing electric power output from the first transformer 4 through a resistor 7; stepping up electric power output from the resistor 7 by a second transformer 6; and inputting electric power output from the second transformer 6 into the AC side of a self-excited converter 21 to charge a capacitor 14 in the self-excited converter. |
