A liquid crystal display panel comprises a substrate, and multiple first electrodes (11) and multiple second electrodes (12) all disposed on the substrate and used for generating driving electric fields. Each first electrode (11) is disposed inside two adjacent pixel units (p) in a first direction. Each second electrode (12) is disposed inside two adjacent pixel units (p) in the first direction. Each first electrode (11) and each second electrode (12) are disposed in the first direction in a staggering mode in which a pixel unit (p) is disposed between each first electrode (11) and each second electrode (12), the first direction being a row or column direction. Also disclosed is a method for driving the liquid crystal display panel.
