An aqueous based oral care composition comprising a pigment having a hue angle, h, in the CIELAB system of from 220 to 320 degrees, and in which the composition at a temperature of 25°C has a yield stress (stress at which the shear rate is 0.1 1/s) from 0.05 to 1.0 Pa and a viscosity from 0.03 to 0.25 Pa.s (measured at a shear rate of 21 1/s).
