The present invention relates to an iris recognition method using a short-range iris photographing camera in a smart phone. It is possible to improve the recognition rate by processing an iris image taken through the short-range iris photographing camera in a smart phone as binary data to reduce the amount of data, and reduce the wrong recognition rate through changes in a pattern and a path of an iris. In addition, it is possible to process through a low capacity system, thereby increasing miniaturization and portability and increasing the recognition rate regardless of the density of the pattern depending on night and day or illumination.
