PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus for reducing toner scattering at an image edge by image processing.SOLUTION: A binary conversion section 41 binarizes individual pixels of an image of a printing object to white and a color except for white. A pixel position detection section 42 detects whether the individual pixels of a binarized image are pixels which constitute an image edge or pixels adjacent to an inner side of the pixels constituting the image edge or other pixels. A regulation value determination section 43 determines a density regulation value in accordance with positions of the individual pixels. For example, the regulation value of the pixels of the image edge is set to be 50%, the regulation value of the pixels adjacent to the inner side of the pixels of the image edge to 75%, and the regulation value of the other pixels to 100%. A halftone processing section 44 performs halftone processing on the image of the printing object, and an output value regulation section 45 regulates the density of the individual pixels of the image after halftone processing to be equal to or below the regulation value determined by the regulation value determination section 43. |
