METHOD FOR ESTIMATING ADSORPTION AMOUNT OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating an adsorption amount of a radioactive material, by which the adsorption amount of the radioactive material adsorbed by an adsorbent is easily estimated.SOLUTION: A method for estimating an adsorption amount of a radioactive material includes steps of: supplying a liquid containing a radioactive material and adsorbing the radioactive material to an adsorbent stored in adsorption towers 11-16; measuring radiation dose rates emitted from the adsorption towers 11-16 at two or more positions 11-1 to 16-2, and obtaining an average radiation dose rate; obtaining an average adsorption amount by dividing a total amount of the radioactive material supplied to the adsorbent by the charging amount of the adsorbent; obtaining a coefficient by dividing the average adsorption amount by the average radiation dose rate; and estimating the adsorption amounts of the adsorbent in the positions 11-1 to 16-2 by multiplying the radiation dose rates at the positions 11-1 to 16-2 measured in the step of obtaining the average radiation dose rate by the coefficient.
