The present invention relates to an intelligent black box system and a method for operating same. The intelligent black box system according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an external imaging unit which captures a front image; an abnormal behavior detection unit which extracts an object from the front image, tracks a movement of the object, and detects an abnormal behavior; and a transmission module which transmits situation information relating to the detected abnormal behavior to a previously registered user terminal with a warning signal.
