PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system the cost reduction of which can be achieved by eliminating the need for a cooling radiator.SOLUTION: A fuel cell system includes a fuel cell unit 10 including a fuel cell stack 12, and a waste-heat recovery heat exchanger 15 for recovering the waste heat of the fuel cell stack 12, a hot water storage tank 21, a circulation pipeline 16A for circulating water between the hot water storage tank 21 and the waste-heat recovery heat exchanger 15, and a backup water heater 22A inserted into the water passage of the circulation pipeline 16A, and capable of heating or cooling the water supplied from the hot water storage tank 21 through the circulation pipeline 16A. The backup water heater 22A is configured to cool the water from the hot water storage tank 21, when the temperature of water therein is higher than a predetermined temperature, and then supply the water to the waste-heat recovery heat exchanger 15 through the circulation pipeline 16A. |
