Provided by the present invention is a multilayer ceramic electronic component which includes: a ceramic main body which includes multiple dielectric layers and has mutually facing first and second principal sides of a thickness direction, first and second cross sections of a longitudinal direction, and first and second lateral sides of a width direction; multiple first internal electrodes which are exposed to at least one side of the first and second lateral sides; second internal electrodes which are alternatively arranged with the first internal electrodes by putting the dielectric layer between the first internal electrode and the second internal electrode and are exposed to at least one side of the first and second cross sections; a first connection electrode which is formed on a side, from which the first internal electrodes are exposed, in a thickness direction and electrically connects the multiple first internal electrodes; a second connection electrode which is formed on a cross section, from which the second internal electrodes are exposed, in a thickness direction and electrically connects the multiple second internal electrodes; and first and second external electrodes which are formed to be extended from an end part of the first and second connection electrodes to at least one principal side of the ceramic main body.
