PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery in which the type of gas generating agent, acting during overcharge, is enriched and high overcharge prevention based on the gas generation, degradation suppression of the battery performance, and low temperature characteristics can be satisfied simultaneously, and to provide an electrolyte for nonaqueous secondary battery.SOLUTION: In a nonaqueous secondary battery having a positive electrode, a negative electrode and a nonaqueous electrolyte, the negative electrode has a transition metal oxide or graphite as its active material, and the nonaqueous electrolyte contains an electrolyte, and 0.05 mol/L or more and 1 mol/L or less of a gas generation agent composed of a compound represented by the following formula (I) or (II) in an organic solvent. |
