<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steering controller for vehicles and a steering controlling method for vehicles which are suitable for steering control adapted to individual drivers.SOLUTION: A target steering angle calculation portion 25 controls steering transient characteristics which represent transient response characteristics of steering anglesθr of steering wheels 11L and 11R to a steering angleθs instructed by a steering wheel 1 by determining the driving skill of a driver on the basis of a steering angleθs detected by a steering angle sensor 3 and a vehicle speed Vs and a yaw rateφdetected by a running state detector 17, setting a steering angle speed factor K1 to be used in calculating a target steering angleθr* expressed byθr*=K0θs+K1ωs on the basis of the driving skill and calculating the target steering angleθr* by using the set K1.</p> |
