<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent for liquid crystal display that improves a response speed and provides a good alignment state when a polymerizable compound is added into a liquid crystal as well as when no polymerizable compound is added.SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display element is formed by applying a voltage to a liquid crystal cell holding a liquid crystal between two substrates on which a liquid crystal aligning agent is applied and which are fired and simultaneously irradiating the cell with UV. The liquid crystal aligning agent includes alkoxysilane represented by a formula (1) and a formula (2), and in all alkoxysilane, contains polysiloxane obtained by condensation-polymerizing alkoxysilane containing 10-60 mol% of the alkoxysilane represented by the formula (2).
