The present invention provides: a production method [1] for a fine organic pigment that makes it possible to produce a fine organic pigment that has an extremely small primary particle size and that exhibits excellent filterability even in a washing step; a fine organic pigment obtained using this method; a production method for a dispersion that uses the fine organic pigment; a dispersion that is obtained using the production method; and a production method for an ink that is used in the dispersion. The production method [1] for an organic pigment comprises the following steps (1) and (2): a step (1) in which a raw organic pigment, a water-soluble inorganic salt, a water-soluble organic solvent, and 0.8-18.0 parts by mass of a compound that is represented by formula (1) with respect to 100 parts by mass of the raw organic pigment are blended and the mixture thus obtained is mixed; and a step (2) in which the mixture obtained at step (1) is washed using an aqueous solvent and filtered.
